ShikotHasan lives with her mother Morsheda and elder brother in the village of Kamalpur, Bogra. His father died few months ago in July, 2014 and after the death of his father, they were passing their days in suffering. On 28 August 2014, the nearby dyke/dam of the Jamuna broke and the whole village was flooded by river water. Shikot and his family lost everything in the flood. As his house got flooded by the flood water, his education material, stored harvest grain and cattle were lost. The entire family had to take shelter elsewhere, where the land was dry. During that time, they did not had any food or clean drinking water and they were desperate for help. In this situation with funding from Tear Fund UK and World Renew, FH Bangladesh was able to provide food and basic medication for the child and the family. They received rice, lentil, cooking oil, salt, oral saline and soap as primary aid packet.
In this moment of desperation, these three organizations were able to provid the flood affected family relief and support. Now the child and his family have moved back to their home and their life is becoming normal again. Shikot says, “I am very thankful to all of you for your support. May God bless you all”.
